TO REQUEST AN APPOINTMENT

1. Send an email on AUGUST 1 ONLY.
2. Please submit to rdauterive@desertvet.org
3. Provide ALL information requested below.
4. If we have a spot for you, we will contact you; if you do not hear from us, that means we do not have an appointment for you. Please be patient; we are unable to respond to inquiries about whether you have a spot.
5. The following will NOT receive a response: 
     – Phone calls
     – Emails to a different email address than rdauterive@desertvet.org
     – Inquiries not sent on August 1
     – Requests with incomplete information
     – Inquiries about whether you have an appointment

3. OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • You must be available to drop off your pet in the morning and pick up in the afternoon.
  • Your pet must be between the ages of 6 months and 6 years, in good health, and preferably up to date with their vaccines.* 
  • Finally, payment must be given in advance to confirm your appointment (no-shows will forfeit this payment).

*A note on vaccinations:

We strongly recommend that dogs be vaccinated against rabies and DA2PP, and that cats be vaccinated against rabies and FVRCP, to protect their health and reduce the risk of serious infectious disease.

Choosing not to follow these recommendations is considered against medical advice and may increase the risk of illness, complications, or transmission of disease to other animals.

Veterinary procedures—including surgery, boarding, or hospitalization—may also carry increased risk without appropriate vaccination.

Owners who elect to proceed with spay/neuter surgery at DCAC without following these recommendations assume full responsibility for any resulting outcomes.

Additional fees will be charged for the following: Pregnancy, cryptorchidism (undescended testicles), and pyometra. Upon exam/surgery if any of these conditions is discovered, you will be contacted to discuss additional charges and to give approval. If you do not answer the call, we will not proceed with the surgery; the surgery fee will NOT be refunded.
